Drummer for Counting Crows
Jim Bogios has been a band member with Counting Crows since 2003. Prior to that he spent 8 years playing drums and singing for Sheryl Crow, as well as touring and recording with the Chicks, Ben Folds, and many other notable artists.
This one is the anti-caveman. I like to take it nice and easy. Until of course, when you have to hit a high ass vocal note out of nowhere at the end of the song!

There is something I always love about playing a simple 4 on the floor groove. Maybe because it brings out my inner caveman. I was the first drummer to finally get some cowbell on a CC track, and now Boxcar is the first song with 4 on the floor. What’s next???

In my happy place recording with the very prolific and talented Matt Jaffe. The drive home had me reflecting a bit on the things I love about the studio so much.
1. When a show ends, besides the memories, it is over. A recording is the one time a musician has something solid which represents what it is we do, that will hopefully live forever.
2. I love the process and challenge of recording a song. Some go down easy, others can take a while. The satisfaction you feel after nailing a track is both gratifying and addicting. This feeling is what keeps me coming back again, and again. #jimbogios #mattjaffe #studio @mattjaffemusic @boxerlodge

(Charlie Gillingham is not pictured, but no doubt noodling about on the keyboards driving us all nuts, whilst Dave Bryson hides in the shadows!)

Congrats to Hell Divers 2, and all the talented people involved; it just received a Grammy Nomination for “Best Score Soundtrack.” I really enjoyed being part of this. If it wins, I will add it to my growing collection of Grammy……….participation certificates, ha!
